Fun in the 'Boro

What a treat to play with cousins (and sisters!). Here is a small taste of our adventures so far this trip.

The six cousins: Timmy, Benji, Allie, Chloe, Michaela and Kievan

Our visit to Five Falls revealed a kids' paradise! There was much fun to be had canoeing (the five islands are named Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the Isle of Patmos) and trying to catch fish with the makeshift "net" (the large plastic tub). They came so close...

We enjoyed having Jessi with us for a few days to play. She's much more fun than the mommies! (And I really appreciated sharing the driving duties on our way out.)Our only complaint this trip is that we really miss Daddy! We love you Daddy!

The Joy of Technology

I have a confession. If my computer has a problem, the extent of my technical expertise is to reboot my machine. If that doesn't fix it, I'm out of luck! I've often congratulated myself on my wise marriage to a computer genius. Needless to say, I've admired my sister's various impressive computer accomplishments, the latest being her blog (http://sunshinyliving.blogspot.com), with great admiration and more than a little envy. How cool that we get to see all the fun going on in the 'boro! Too bad I didn't know how to do that too -- just think what fun it would be to share the moments of our lives with our extended family and friends, spread from coast to coast and around the world.

So when the kids and I arrived in the 'boro for a visit a few days ago, I should have been prepared for my tech-savvy sister to drag me to the computer and insist that I, even I, could do this! And it appears, with the help of a program designed for computer wimps like me and Di setting it up to make it look pretty, that I really can! It turns out that there really are "joys" of technology -- one of which is that we get to share our lives with you. I look forward to it!
